Have you ever taken a trip to the Great Smoky Mountains and wanted a hometown cafe level of coffee? Well you are in luck because Happy Healthy Daughter has found the spot for you. This place is so good, we went there twice, and returned for a third time to enjoy their brews and water based drinks. And as a bonus, they also have breakfast options and pastries to add to your concoction.
We tried 3 of the water based drinks and 2 coffee based drinks. Happy Healthy Daughter loves a good iced caramel macchiato and this cafe did not disappoint. She enjoyed her drink to the fullest with the flavors that the Heavenly Roast added making the difference between this cafe and all the others. She loved the high quality ingredients in her drink.
The other coffee based drink she tried is the Campfire drink which had the distinct flavor of campfire roasted marshmallows and chocolate giving it a s’mores feeling. A different but equally enjoyable drink for her.
After those drinks, we all tried 3 water based drinks. The pretty in pink had some gummies on the top with a watermelon-lime flavor that reminded me of eating those gummies in a liquid form. A tasty treat for all.
The second water based drink we had was a dragon fruit based drink called Dragon Fruit Dazzle. The drink had an I-CEE like feel where the ice was ground up and flavored with the dragon fruit and citrus flavoring.
The third one was the strawberry cheesecake whip. The cream on top still works with the liquid like drink by adding the creamy texture to a strawberry cheesecake flavoring for the drink. A very refreshing taste for a hot summer day.
We also tried some of their food options they have. The breakfast burrito was mostly egg and sausage with a great flavor and a nice snack for the morning.
The honey chicken biscuit comes with two think biscuits, a crispy filet of fried chicken and a drizzle of honey on top. The crunchy and sweet together is reminiscent of chicken and waffles but with a different type of breading. A nice small sandwich to start your day.
Now if you would rather have some desert, the lemon blueberry loaf will fit that need. If you like lemons with a bit of blueberries in them, then this loaf is for you. The blueberries all sank to the bottom but you can still eat the blueberries along with the lemony lemon cake. The sugar on top adds a nice contrast to the sourness of the lemon loaf.
Lastly we tried a pistachio cookie. It came with white chocolate chips and a hint of pistachio flavoring. Unlike it’s macadamia nut cookie cousin, the pistachio is in the background as a nice accent as opposed to having huge chunks of the nut in the cookie. Overall, the cookie is sweet and tasty.
